Friday Manila morning, and I had a pretty cold but a good night's sleep. Did a few minutes of stretching then went to check my pc. My mother as usual the early bird, does her early morning rituals and tuned in on the early morning tv program at channel 2.
I went out to check on the morning tabloid if there was one at our gate, lucky me there was one, I scanned through the pages. Nothing new but the same old stuff, politics, killings, same old boring gossips arount the local movie and television scene. I dont really care much about the gossips entertainment scene here has been the same old stuff, remakes from old movies or local versions of foreign stuffs.. not very amusing for me.. well thats me again talking, some of you or most may not agree. Last on the tabloid's page was the sports news which is what I always take notice at, well local basketball scene.. i dont care much about today but still good as what I heard. Then nothing more of interest to me.
I went back in to browse the web, then heard a shocking news from the tv program, they reported Michael Jackson was believed to have died of cardiac arrest. Woah! This might be the hot news today. The reports were brief and lacked much detail. Still is a shocking news. As a child I used to be fascinated by the dude but since he got charged with child molestation the fascination faded little by little. Still he made part of history and contributed to all of out lives. As I am writting now, a friend of mine also told me that Farah Fawcett is also dead. I really dont know anything about her but she too is a famous in Hollywood.
This is a day of great loss for Hollywood both characters were pretty distunguished and much talked about personalities, its never a pleasant thing to hear about people dying but this is how life goes, when its your time to go, you have to for it is your destiny.

Rainy Thursday
Its a rainy Thursday morning here at Manila, storm signal #1 and I had to stop playing TS3 for awhile to do some stuff, I needed some time off from gaming and do some more real life stuff for a change. Ill be playing TS3 once in awhile but I need to interact with my friends which I am loosing touch. Well its pretty hard when your almost glued in the house for over a month. When I got laid off from my last job, being at home for several weeks was kinda cool but I realized that it got pretty boring and I really miss my buddies and hanging out with them, joking around, socializing and sharing thoughts. Lol! funny thing playing TS3 made me realize more what I am missing!

Manny Pacquiao Miguel Cotto Fight
I have been a big boxing fanatic since I was young, fanatic in a way that when I see a fight airing on television wether its a known fighter or new bloods I quickly glue myself on a chair and watch. I dont really follow any boxer but.. I really try to watch all the fight of Manny Pacquiao. Yeah my fellow Filipino, one of the reasons Im proud to be one!
I saw most of his fights from the his earliest career till the last Hatton match. I also had the privilage to see the 1st ever loss and KO one against fellow Filipino Rustico Torecampo. I really thought that Manny's career was a goner when I saw him lose this one, my first impression of him when I saw his early career was a very cocky fighter, loves to throw alot of wild punches and very unpolished. He had no defense but pure offense. Well since that fight I thought he learned a big lesson and I think Fredie Roach was a big factor on how he grew as a fighter. I dont know when did Roach came in his fighting career but still the point is, I think he would never be what he is now without the guidance and experience of Roach.
Well enough of the history, lets go to the views of the versus Cotto fight. Literally Cotto is a much bigger fighter than him and I think has a big advantage on the power punching side. And because Cotto is the bigger man, I think he will also be the more durable fighter. This fight will be 3 times much more harder than the Hatton fight in my opinion. Unlike Hatton, I think Cotto wouldnt do what he did. But judging from Cotto's last fight versus Joshua Clottey, I can see a bright light inside a dark tunnel for Manny.
About the bright light inside the tunnel, Cotto at his last fight for me was slow, he can throw a good punch that he can do no doubt! I think the key here for Manny and like every fight against bigger opponent is the speed both hand and foot. Yeah true, De la Hoya was getting old but Manny made him look like a grandpa. If Manny manages to make his combinations work with some hits at the body and run past the Cotto assault, I think he has a big chance of pulling an upset. Speed and timing will be the the way for Manny, well for every boxer I think it is. If he can do all this, I think Cotto will go down late in the 8th round. But if all goes Cotto's way, I think if he wins, he does it 3rd or 4th.
Well apparently as of today they are still making a deal on what weight they will meet, I heard that Cotto wants it at 145 lbs. and Manny's camp wants it at 143 lbs. And I think someone from Manny's camp said why not 144 lbs. ? (I think its Wacky Salud, I think I read it at some tabloid)
But I think this fight will go thru once the weight is settled if not there are still names there that wants a piece of Manny. To conclude this I think this will be a great fight to watch and look forward to, both having great fan base and it could go either way depending on what goes wrong or what goes right.

H1N1 here at the Philippines
I was scanning the news today and saw that H1N1(Swine Flu) has hit the 500 mark here at my country. Woah! I dont know much about the virus but as what I have heard its not as dangerous as the ones like of Ebola which can cause organ failures which leads to dead. I heard lots are quickly recovering here from the virus and death from it is like zero for now, but there was one case that one died a few days ago but they say the person has other illness not of the virus.
But what is very alarming is we have 500 confirmed cases and what about the unconfirmed ones. we could say it may double or may not hoping it does not spread fast. I hope the goverment does a better job of containing and preventing the virus from spreading even further.
All in all a virus is still a virus and it is dangerous in its sense, one thing we could only do is have a clean and healthy environment to and hope for the best.

Internet Connection Really Sucks
Several days now I am having problems on my intetnet connection. There are times where I cant browse anything and the connection really fails, Im using PLDT plan 999. Well I just hope its because of the bad weather we are having here in Manila. I think there is a typhon. Still the feeling sucks when you cant even browse. For me internet is the way for information nowadays. And by the way its going it really seems that the web will be the major source of data world wide. Hoping to have a better connection soon.
3 Days of Playing The Sims 3
Going back in the past, I only saw 'The Sims' in a internet cafe that I played at(eventually worked there) and thought it was a cool game. But havent had the time to try it. Games that clicked on that era were CS(Counter Strike)and Warcraft 2: Reign of Chaos. Then going back 3-4 years ago, I bought Sims 2 and tried it briefly, I think I enjoyed it (lol) cant really remember it that well because I had work back then and it limited my playing time for an hour or 2.
I am not really a Sims genre player, knowing that there is such a limited number of titles that this genre has. I would normally go for strategy type game or a leveling type RPG but still Sims is a role-playing game. But still I needed to try it out to feed my gaming cravings.
Well 3 days ago finally after a few days of waiting I had installed my 'Sims 3' cheers!
Day one, I thought i would have troubles playing the game thinking my system isnt enough for the game because when I launched the game, it closed while playing the intro movie. I was WTF!? then tried to launch it again this time I skipped the movie and it went smoothly. I created a sim that resembled me then made another that resembled a friend of mine and made them roomies. There was alot of customization on the create a sim part from faces, hairs, clothes etc. I didnt bother much there because I wanted to try test run the gameplay but there is a part where you choose traits for your sim, I think there is 4 or 5 categories which are mental,life style,physical, arg! forgot the the other one or two but under those categories you can choose traits that would make your sim unique or maybe not well maybe coz I think theres not that many sim in the town lol! Adult and young adults sims are entitled to 5 traits, teen is 4 etc. Then the lifetime goal or wish, this will depend on the traits that you chose for your sim, young adult and adult can only choose 1 and teens has no access on this yet but ingame the time will come, so that concludes the create a sim. After creation game asked me if I wanted to rent an empty lot or one with a house, coz this is my first try I opted to rent a furnished house.
Finally I can start the game and try what it has to offer! The game offered a tutorial on how make your sims live, I took some tutorials but its like a read tutorial so I didnt bother much eventually figured how the game worked on my own. It was nice having a sim work for some corporation and the other take another career path but I when I followed them to worked I found out they worked for a vacant building! lol what I meant is you dont get to see your sim when he/she works, it is inside a building but no interactions you see people go in and out a police building (for example if your sim is a police officer)but you dont have the luxury of seeing what he is doing inside, instead you are given an interaction icon on the top left part of your screen where you chose wether he works; business as ussual , working hard , take it easy or suck up the boss... lol! I cant compare it to the past sims coz as I said I never played Sims 1 and Sims 2 I only remembered creating a sim but I would preferred if they made it more realistic when working, wanted to interact at work see if the boss flirts with his/her secretary or if I can score with one lol! maybe there is room for improvement on future versions or patches. It was not really hard playing with 2 sims at the same time, even if I dont focus much on both sims and let time fly by they do what they need to do and that was good part. When they are tired they sleep, when they are hungry they prepare their meal when they need to go to work they go and it was really great. Then the game informs me that both my sims birthdays near and I should buy a cake and throw a party! Damn that was quick, I thought I only played several days of sim life and they are now aging! Well I found out that I didnt check for the aging selection in the options so it ages to the next stage in several days. I ended up with two elder sims and the game keeps giving me retirement selections LOL! Time was running out for my sims to attain their lifetime wish. =( I decided the test run was over and make a finer game.
Day two of playing Sims 3, I thought of creating 3 sims, 1 young adult and 2 teens and try it out. All males by the way. All of my sims resembled somebody I know and I got a real laugh out of it and it was pretty entertaining. One sim looked and really acted how I see my friend in real life! LOL! Teen life in the sims can be pretty troublesome, why? they need to go to school mon-fri and if you dont go for a couple of times and your school performance goes down to failing it gives a very negative mood to that sim, in my opinion schooling should be optional, one reason is reality and what if I dont want my sim to go to school lol! Well I think EA is promoting going to school which is right but in reality it doesnt go that way well its not reality but WTH! Another thing is the part-time job for teens, well you can look for jobs at a spa, supermarket, bookstore and even at the graveyard LOL! You can go directly to get a job or use the computer or paper to get a job, one thing about the jobs is you work for 3 hrs for 5 days depending on the schedule, but it wont conflict with school schedules but WTH school at 8am till about 2 or 3pm then another 3hrs of part timer that takes alot of the fun of teen life. To make it more complicated you have to work on your homework lol! thats about another hour or so and you end up with just that for 5 days a week. Well it gets easier when you get to spend lifetime rewards. Yeah I forgot to talk about the life time reward points, you will get points while doing everyday things and doing some task like wash dishes or buy stuff etc. Once you got enough points you can buy lifetime abilities like steel bladder, yeah this is one of my favorite which makes your sim immortal LOL no just kidding it makes your sim not go to the toilet forever! no crap and pee!! Its one of my favorite abilities but its not fun if you want to make your sim what he needs to be LOL. Another cool ability that is very useful that you can buy is dirt defiant. Yeah it spells it all, another almost immortal ability! in normal cases you need to take a bath once a day sometimes more if your an athlete. The 3rd ability I would suggest is the never hungry one, forgot the exact name but its also an immortal ability you can let your sim do things for 2-3 days without thinking of the hunger bar, I really suggest you buy this last if you want to make your sim good at cooking or else you know what happens. There are lots of abilities from being a legendary party host up to having a teleportation pad or ability havent tried this one but all in all you can choose from over 20 I think. Well 2 days of playing 'The Sims 3' I actually entertained. Found several down points but it cant be perfect.
Well still day 2 and I manage to make my house bigger and more comfortable thanks to my adult sim which is a Chairman of the Board at company. Well they are very comfortable now with better environment , best bed and nicely decorated rooms for better mood effects. At this point I felt having 3 sims is not much of a difficulty and was thinking to start another game with 4 or 5 sims at once, but wait I need to test somehing first LOL!. I had this maid who I think is hot so I let my adult sim have her hang out and befriend her. It got to a point that I tried flirting with her LOL in several hours I got her to bed for several times and it was funny and when I use the interact to flirt with her some more an option with try for baby came out but I couldnt choose it. When I hover my mouse on it, it says something about the having too much sim in the household. Kate Pistacio was her name LOL! Well I couldnt leave the current game until I tried that option LOL. Next sim day after my adult's work I tried calling another female sim, Holly Alto I think and befriend her and flirted her to the point that the try for baby option came out LOL! For kids out there, dont try this at home LOL. Well I tried it several times and it was the same as the WooHoo option the only difference is the result. Try for baby eventually makes her pregnant, you know what I mean. Several options came out when I got to best friend status and romantic interest status part and I forgot to try out. I called Kate to invite over but she isnt available how sad =( So I tried Holly and she isnt available too =(. So I needed another prospect LOL! I have co-worker and invited her over. Nancy Landgraab I think. Then befriended her till she was my best friend. I made the Stay Over for the night option to come out then I saw the Move In after several conversations so I tried it. LOL! She moved in my house and became my sim WTH! I found out several things, she was married and has a teen son LOL!. The funny part is I flirted with her and tried to have a baby with her and when Kate cleans the house she gets mad when she sees us together LOL then Nancy became pregnant! Disaster! I broke a family =( to make it even worse a day before Nancy gives birth Holly gives birth and to top it up Nancy gave birth to 2 baby girls! LOL! It was like reality and it was shocking and entertaining I never thought this was possible but it was that was a thumbs up for 'The Sims 3'. This concluded day 2.
Day 3, Was thinking "whats next?" Day 3 is what I call the hardships of parenthood. I thought it was hard enough having 2 teens as roomies for my adult sim but I never thought having a partner and balancing work and family was easy. I never expected that the game will be like this it was more than I expected at this point. In real life, having a baby is like the best feeling in the world both tough but fulfilling. Im not a parent but I can relate to the feeling. Just imagining such a beatiful thing grow and become somebody is part of what completes a person. This happens not without a hardship. 'The sims 3' made a good effort on giving people a good idea on matter and I appreciate it.
Well 3rd day was confusion and oneness of the household. I had to make my adults to buy baby stuff like beds and play things, I accidentally named both baby girls as Victoria, I was suppose to name them Victoria but with different second names. The babies made life horrible for the household with constant crying and waking them up in the middle of the night which was like GRRRR! and funny. All would run towards the cribs teens and parents, it was a pretty site in my opinion. The first few days were easier but when Nancy (Mom) had to go back to work it became pretty hard even if you have an option of calling a baby sitter at services when nobody can tend to the babies for all needs to do their daily schedules. Nights sleep were devastating for them almost all cant complete a full rest especially the parents which they needed because they all work eventually they managed because at this point my adult sim had a level 10 job which requires a few hours of work for about 3 days a week and Nancy got promoted to level 9 at her job which means more time for the babies! I noticed that the aging bar of the babies were over 60% , maybe its less than 2 weeks before they go to the next stage. For day 3 of playing, was almost no interaction for my sims just work/school - home - babies - sleep - babies - sleep - work/school again, my adult sim managed to do some outside task from time to time that is when 2 other members of the household are there. At this stage, I remembered that I had a baby with Holly Alto, it was about night time in sim life so I hovered the view to the Alto's mansion and it was a sad site, I saw Holly outside by the pool alone and drinking =(. I thought of visiting her but it the sim was too tired. I just threw a party on a weekend and invited among the guest were Holly and her dad. LOL! I talked to Holly but cant find good options on the interaction panel, well, I think they should put some more options there when certain events happens it was all the same. And I as I continued on the party Holly's dad talked to my sim, I never paid much attention but come to think of it now, I think he talking about his Holly and grandson. LOL!
Well this concludes the 3 real life days I played 'The Sims 3' , I still have much more options I haven't explored in the game but maybe in a day or two I will try to explore it further. I stopped playing for a little while to share some of my gaming expirience may it be boring for those who may read this. Well in things like this may it be a review or just a brief experience, one can certainly learn about things maybe it be about the game or in real life. Maybe in my next post I can share more infos.

Im not a parent but I can relate to the feeling. Just imagining such a beatiful thing grow and become somebody is part of what completes a person. This happens not without a hardship. 'The sims 3' made a good effort on giving people a good idea on matter and I appreciate it.
Well 3rd day was confusion and oneness of the household. I had to make my adults to buy baby stuff like beds and play things, I accidentally named both baby girls as Victoria, I was suppose to name them Victoria but with different second names. The babies made life horrible for the household with constant crying and waking them up in the middle of the night which was like GRRRR! and funny. All would run towards the cribs teens and parents, it was a pretty site in my opinion. The first few days were easier but when Nancy (Mom) had to go back to work it became pretty hard even if you have an option of calling a baby sitter at services when nobody can tend to the babies for all needs to do their daily schedules. Nights sleep were devastating for them almost all cant complete a full rest especially the parents which they needed because they all work eventually they managed because at this point my adult sim had a level 10 job which requires a few hours of work for about 3 days a week and Nancy got promoted to level 9 at her job which means more time for the babies! I noticed that the aging bar of the babies were over 60% , maybe its less than 2 weeks before they go to the next stage. For day 3 of playing, was almost no interaction for my sims just work/school - home - babies - sleep - babies - sleep - work/school again, my adult sim managed to do some outside task from time to time that is when 2 other members of the household are there. At this stage, I remembered that I had a baby with Holly Alto, it was about night time in sim life so I hovered the view to the Alto's mansion and it was a sad site, I saw Holly outside by the pool alone and drinking =(. I thought of visiting her but it the sim was too tired. I just threw a party on a weekend and invited among the guest were Holly and her dad. LOL! I talked to Holly but cant find good options on the interaction panel, well, I think they should put some more options there when certain events happens it was all the same. And I as I continued on the party Holly's dad talked to my sim, I never paid much attention but come to think of it now, I think he talking about his Holly and grandson. LOL!
Well this concludes the 3 real life days I played 'The Sims 3' , I still have much more options I haven't explored in the game but maybe in a day or two I will try to explore it further. I stopped playing for a little while to share some of my gaming expirience may it be boring for those who may read this. Well in things like this may it be a review or just a brief experience, one can certainly learn about things maybe it be about the game or in real life. Maybe in my next post I can share more infos.
